Who We Are
Hiyas Kalilayan Cultural Group (HKCG) is a community-based, non-profit organization of young talented artists committed to the preservation of Quezon’s cultural heritage, promoting cultural education, and perpetuating cultural values.
Founded in August 2014, the name “Kalilayan” was the province’s ancient name which literally means “a place abundant with lilay” – a type of grass, similar to a palm in most of the places in Southern part of the province.
Living up to its name, the Group committed itself to preserving the Quezon cultural heritage, promoting cultural education, and perpetuating cultural values. As it continuously improves itself, the cultural group works passionately to develop artistic skills among its members so as to uphold and fulfill its commitment to the community and to the arts itself.
